2061 Called To Final Reward.
W.W. Coon, well-known in this community passed away at his home in Sioux City after a brief illness. He was a man of the highest moral attainments, a good neighbor and friend. To have known him was a pleasure and his passing will be mourned by his large circle of relatives and friends.
W.W. Coon, father of J.A. Coon of Correctionville passed away at his home in Sioux City Saturday, January 30, 1932, at 5 p.m. He had been in poor health for several weeks but was only confined to his bed for a few days.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the family residence with Rev. Paul Foster officiating. Burial was made in Graceland Park Cemetery directed by Larkin's Funeral Home.
William Wiley Coon was born January 14, 1849, in Lafayette, Indiana, and moved to Spring Green, Wisconsin, when a small boy, at which place he resided until manhood. In 1874 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Anderson. They then moved to Shelby County where they lived for a few years, later they moved to Woodbury County and lived on a farm four miles south of Correctionville for thirty years. In 1909 they moved to Leeds, Sioux City, where he passed away.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Coon, four sons, J.A. of Correctionville, F.V. of Herford, Colorado, J.B. and H.W. Coon of Sioux City; five daughters, Mrs. J.H. Mayclin of Plankinton, South Dakota, Mrs. C.R. Denton, Mrs. Zelma Babcock and Miss Goldie Coon all of Sioux City; one brother, J.N. Coon of Chico, California, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Summers of Correctionville, Iowa. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Death - Buckholts - The Cummings brothers were notified last Thursday morning of the death of their father, Joe Cummings who was visiting the family of his son, Mage Cummings near Lilac. Mr. Cummings had a stroke 2-days before his death. He was about 71 years of age. He leaves six grown children, two daughters and four sons, all of who are married.

At the fall of Arkansas Post a part of this Company escaped and was thrown in with Company E. 17th Texas Consolidated Dismounted Cavalry, with Captain DAMRON commanding. A part of the original Company was captured and carried to Camp Douglass (Chicago) but, after several months, were exchanged and returned to the Confederate lines East of the Mississippi River and the Company was there reorganized. The following roll includes the names of men in all three of these organizations (but probably not all of them) and were furnished by Sam W. BISHOP, Wm. J. WHEAT, George FISHER, Sam H.
