LAWRENCE ARMSTRONG
Services were held yesterday for Lawrence Armstrong, 76, Route 1, Laneville at the Bryan Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. A. D. Munsinger officiated with burial in the Laneville Cemetery.
Armstrong, who lived in the Laneville area most of his life, died Tuesday at his home of a sudden illness.
He was born in Arkansas and was a retired carpenter and painter.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Armstrong; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Randles of Kansas, and Mrs. Bonnie Flanagan, Mt. Enterprise; five sons, Loyd Armstrong, New London, Charlie Armstrong, Kansas, Bil Armstrong, Alta Loma, Cecil Armstrong, Arcadia, and Emmitt Armstrong, Texas City; two sisters, Mrs. Bird Watkins, Dallas, and Mrs. Margie Rexrod, Laneville; two brothers, Buddy Armstrong, Minden, and Johnnie Armstrong, Henderson; 23 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. | ARMSTRONG, Lawrence (I43)

Lawrence Mills
Services for Lawrence Mills, 79, of Henderson will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Bryan Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. R.C. Coppedge officiating.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.
Mr. Mills died at 5:10 p.m. Sunday in Henderson Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born May 16, 1908, in Rusk County, where he lived most of his life. He was a member od a Pentecostal church and was retired from the Marine Manufacturing Co. He was a member of DOF Lodge 28, Rebecca Lodge 159, and American Legion Post 95 and VFW Post 8535.
The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Mills of Henderson; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robert Armstrong, E.D. Armstrong, George A. Armstrong, Glenn Armstrong, Rickey Armstrong, and Ear (Pete) Armstrong.

My beloved Wife, I this morning have taken my pen to write you a few lines to inform you how we are getting along in camp. I am in moderately good health. I have been able for duty every day since I came here. The health of the company is only moderately good. The whole Army is suffering with colds, the worst of coughs. We have had one bad case at this time in the company. William Whitfield is down with Typhoid fever. Will be a very bad case. Marion (?) Grimes has Typhoid fever too. There is several other men not well. There is lots of cases of fever in our Reg. We lost three men in our Reg. This morning and some 1 or 2 more that will die today from pneumonia and Typhoid fever. Achsah, they are Burying soldiers all the time here. There is so much sickness in the different Regiments. I hope the health will improve. Well Achsah, William and me got Permission to leave camp last Tuesday evening and stay until Thursday. Jim Wood (a) came in that day so I got Bectens horse. Jim had two.
