  Thursday Mrs. W.C. (Lela) Manning of Gatesville died here April 16. She was 86. Services were held Saturday at Scott's Funeral Home with Rev. Rex Tilly officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery. She was born February 10, 1907, in Coryell County, daughter of the late William and Lidia Donaldson. She married Bill Cole Manning on October 23, 1922, in Gatesville, and they lived here until moving to Odessa in 1944. They returned to Gatesville in 1957. She was a partner with her husband in farming and ranching. Mrs. Manning was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Manning and Jim Manning, and two grandsons, Tony and Jeff Manning. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Nita Brown of Gatesville, and Mary Smith of Conroe; two sons, Jack Manning of Odessa and Fred Manning of Palestine; one sister, Edna Oneal of Galveston; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Mike Smith, Jimmy Smith, Matt Smith, C. Jack Manning, Bobby Manning and Bill Caufield. Memorials may be made to Cedar Ridge Church of Christ in Gatesville.
