- Mrs. Bartley Dies Monday
Glasgow, Ky. - Mrs. Viola Harlan Bartley, 77, well known resident of the Summer Shade section, died at the home of her son, Ralph Bartley, at Summer Shade at 1:30 p.m. Monday after a long illness.
She was a native of Monroe County, the daughter of the late John A. and Betsy Rush Harlan and married the late Will S. Bartley, who died in 1956.
She was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph Bartley, Summer Shade, and Aaron Bartley, Pontiac, Michigan; four daughters, Mrs. Howard Wiley, Rt 3, Summer Shade; Mrs. Leon Smart, Frankfort, Indiana; Mrs. Comer Thomas, Rt. 3, Glasgow; and Mrs. Kermit Arterburn, Louisville; a sister, Mrs. Florence Gerald, Cyclone; a brother, Ed N. Harlan Pontiac, Illinois; 25 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services have been set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Union No. 2 church with burial in the church cemetery. The body will be at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Howard Wiley, near Nobob until time for service. The Crow funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
