  Obituary
  Harvey Walter Gardner, 67, of Rt 1, died at 5:40 pm Wednesday in the Lucy Lee Hospital. He had been ill since last September. A life-long resident of Butler County, Mr Gardner was born here in Sept 4, 1904. He was an electrician and a member of the Church of Christ at Green Forrest. On Sept 24, 1927, he married Stella Johnson and she survives. Other survivors are: sons, Harold Gardner of Festus, Francis Gardner of Poplar Bluff, and James Gardner of Lawton, Okla.; daughters, Mrs Norma Jean Cochran of Poplar Bluff and Mrs Vaulta Quinn of Houston, Tex.; sisters Mrs Gertrude Sparkman of Cape Girardeau, and Mrs Julia Hays of Poplar Bluff; and eight grandchildren. Mr Gardner's funeral will be at 2 pm Saturday in the Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Clay Ross will officiate and burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 7 pm Friday in the funeral home.
