  Robt. L. Parker Dies Here Monday Robert L. Parker, 62, died unexpectedly at his home 718 Broadnax street, Monday morning. He had been working around the yard shortly before and at the time of passing was sitting in a chair on the front porch. Mr. Parker had lived in and around Rockdale all of his life. He was a son of the late Mr. And Mrs. Perry Anderson Parker, and was born on August 10, 1899, in the Hicks community of Lee County. He was married to Ovalla Mae Whiteley on March 29, 1925, in Tanglewood. The past eight years the family had been permanent residents of Rockdale. Mr. Parker for several years held a position with the city in charge of the meter department, and later was a member of the police force. He had retired from active work in recent years. Mr. Parker was a members of the Full Gospel church of Rockdale. He is survived by the wife, Mrs. Robert L. Parker of Rockdale; sons Henry Glenn Parker of Lamarque, Bobby Ray Parker of Germany: daughters Mary Ellen Lingo of West Helena, Arkansas, Mrs Doris Gene Rozell of Carrolton, Mrs. Bessie Mae Brown, Miss Glenda Ruth Parker of Rockdale; brothers, L. V. Parker of Forney, Floyd Parker of Garland; sisters Mrs. Laura Ray, Mrs. Velma Brooks of Dallas, Mrs. Mary Lee Whiteley of Rockdale, Mrs. Ethel Reed of Quinlan; also 12 grandchildren. Funeral services were postponed until this afternoon awaiting arrival of the son from Germany. Services were conducted from the Phillips and Luckey chapel, the Rev. Millard Brown officiating. Burial followed at the IOOF cemetery. Pall-bearers were Alford Rogers, Ed Schlottman, John Kohl, Frank Dreher, Fadie Muston, Wayne Roberts. Honorary were Victor Schlottman, Harvey Luckey, E. B. Coldiron, T. P. Springer, Clyde Eiland.
