Tommy Favors, 74, of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at his residence. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2012, at the McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, Texas. Pastor Dana Altimore will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Franklin. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9 a.m. until service time at McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin.
Tommy was born in Hearne, Texas, to the late James Buel and Annie Belle Shepherd Favors. He married Dixie Hancock on July 14, 1955. Tommy was a self-employed brick mason and had been a resident of Winnsboro for nine years, previously living in Little Elm, Texas, for 36 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Ricky Favors; six brothers; and a sister.
He is survived by daughters, Elaine Favors Lively and husband, Robert, of Rice, Texas, Karen Favors Byrd and husband, Donald, of Corsicana, Texas, and Sharon Favors Ersch and husband, Troy, of Krum, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
